Optic Flow

Optic Flow

LED Lighting

Ten programmable multicolor LED lights give Optic Flow its unique light patterns.

In Optic Flow, ten BlinkM’ LED lights are daisy-chained together. Because the BlinkM is a computing platform on its own, they are connected as part of a special network, called an “I2C serial bus.” The Arduino, which can communicate messages on this bus, can speak to each LED individually.

The program on the Arduino sends commands to each LED light to specify what kind of light show to perform; these are coordinated across all ten LEDs to display the spectacular light shows when Optic Flow is running.
